SentryScreen End User License Agreement

Drafted 1 September 2026.

Draft, for owner and legal review. Not yet approved for distribution. Sections 1, 3 and 9 make the license outlast a lapsed subscription, because the product never switches protection off when billing stops; whether to keep it that way is a legal question for that review.

This agreement is between you and Sentry Screen, LLC (“we”, “us”). It covers the SentryScreen software for macOS, its detection model, and the updates we deliver to it (together, “SentryScreen”). By installing or using SentryScreen you agree to it. If you do not agree, do not install it.

1. What you may do

This is a license, not a sale. We keep all rights in SentryScreen that this agreement does not give you.

2. What you may not do

3. Subscription, renewal, cancellation

SentryScreen is sold as a subscription, billed monthly or annually through our payment provider at the price shown at purchase. It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from https://www.sentry-screen.com/account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and we do not refund partial periods except where the law requires it.

When a subscription lapses, SentryScreen keeps protecting the Macs it is installed on and keeps receiving updates. It shows the parent a renewal notice each day for a grace period we set (currently 7 days), and after that a standing renewal notice in the app until you renew. Nothing about billing switches protection off, and a lapsed subscription does not end this license: it continues under section 1 until you remove SentryScreen or breach this agreement.

4. Updates and license checks

SentryScreen installs updates automatically in the background so that the parent does not have to. To do this, and to confirm your subscription is active, SentryScreen contacts our servers periodically. Those requests carry a license identifier and version information. They never carry screen content, detection results, or anything about what was on the screen. Our privacy statement (https://www.sentry-screen.com/privacy) describes exactly what is sent and kept.

5. Screen Recording permission

SentryScreen needs the macOS Screen Recording permission to work. macOS requires a person to grant it; we cannot grant it for you, and macOS may ask you to confirm it again from time to time. When the permission is missing, SentryScreen tells the parent and does not pretend to be protecting.

6. No guarantee of complete coverage

SentryScreen uses an on-device detector. Like any detector, it can miss content and it can cover content that was harmless. We work to improve it and deliver improvements as updates, but we do not promise that it will detect or cover every instance of explicit content, and you should not rely on it as the only measure you take.

7. Warranty disclaimer

SentryScreen is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use SentryScreen. Our total liability for any claim under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid us for SentryScreen in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limits; in that case they apply only as far as the law allows.

9. Termination

This license ends if you breach it, or when you remove SentryScreen from your Macs. A lapsed subscription does not end it (section 3). When it ends, stop using SentryScreen and remove it with the uninstaller we provide. Sections 2, 7, 8, and 10 survive termination.

10. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of the State of South Carolina, USA unless the law where you live gives you other rights.

11. Changes to this agreement

We may update this agreement when SentryScreen changes. We will show the new version at https://www.sentry-screen.com/eula and, for material changes, in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use SentryScreen after that means you accept the change.
